The command of the Lord Jesus Christ, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel”, was a challenge almost beyond the grasp of the first disciples. It was to take an outstanding character to break out of the mould of Judaism and pioneer the preaching to distant lands and far-off peoples. He had to be able to take men and women with him along the way, from both the old dispensation and the new. He needed to be capable of forging friendships, of building teams and overcoming obstacles. This study of Paul and his friends focuses on a man uniquely fitted for the task and on those who joined with him in his great and enduring enterprise.
