It was in Shechem that God first revealed His covenant to the patriarch Abram and that one of his descendants,
Jesus, would inherit the land of Canaan. Blessings and curses were proclaimed at Shechem and God’s covenant was renewed there. There are many lessons to be learned from a study of Shechem."
